Health City Cayman Islands

We recently had the opportunity to visit Health City Cayman Islands located on the east side of Grand Cayman. Just a short 1 hour flight from Miami, we landed at Owen Roberts International Airport and were greeted as we exited the plane by a Health City representative. They promptly escorted us through the expedited customs line (standard for all patients of Health City) and right into our waiting car.  From there, the ride over to the east side took us along the southern coastline (about 40 minutes of beautiful views) until we arrived at our hotel (Wyndham Reef Resort). I found the accommodations to be spacious and the staff very professional and the proximity to the hospital is great. If you choose to stay on 7 Mile Beach (other side of the island) you're looking at a 40-50 minute ride each way.

The next morning, our car picked us up at the hotel and brought us to the hospital (about 10 minutes away). If you're not familiar with this hospital, it was founded as a partnership between U.S. based Ascension (Ascension is a faith-based healthcare organization dedicated to transformation through innovation across the continuum of care) and India based Narayana Health ("Narayana Health is headquartered in Bengaluru, India, and operates a network of hospitals across the country, with a particularly strong presence in the southern state of Karnataka and eastern India, as well as an emerging presence in northern, western and central India"). The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission International. This is the same entity that accredits U.S. hospitals. Click here to read more about the JCI accreditation.

As we arrived at the hospital, it was quite impressive to see what had been built. The hospital is all new construction and the exterior is meticulously maintained. Walking into the hospital, the reception area was full of natural light and was extremely welcoming. As we toured the hospital, the layout was identical to any U.S. hospital you would walk into. "The renowned surgeons and medical specialists at Health City Cayman Islands received training at some of the best academic centres in the world. Utilising best practices, infection prevention protocols, and evidence-based techniques, we have attained high quality global rankings, including infection rates that are lower than most U.S. hospitals." - Source:
